Green Beans And Pork Stew
This green beans and pork stew is another favorite of mine. Hearty, tasteful and comforting, this bean recipe is full of flavor and nutritious.
You can do it all year long because it uses frozen green beans available in all hypermarkets world wide. Stews are great, comforting and fulfilling meals. So let’s get started.
🍅 Ingredients Needed
- Pork meat (the tender, the better)
- Green beans (fresh or frozen)
- Onions and garlic
- Canned tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper
- Fresh parsley and / or dill
- Cooking oil
🍲 How To Make Pork & Green Beans Stew
1. Cook the beans and saute onions
Place a pot with water (easily salted) on the stove and bring it to a boil. Add the beans and cook it for about 5-8 minutes depending on the beans. It must be a little al dente, not mushy.
Cut the meat in small cubes and brown it in little oil. Set aside. in the same oil saute the chopped onions and 2 garlic cloves until translucent. Add canned tomatoes and let everything cook together 10 minutes at medium-low flame.
2. Cook the meat
Add a little warm water to the stew and season with salt and pepper. A little sugar if necessary to correct the acidity. Add the meat and let it cook in that sauce until done, approx. 50-60 minutes depending on the meat.
3. Finish adding beans
5 minutes before turning off the heat add the green beans to the stew and 3 more garlic cloves (sliced or crushed). Let them finish cooking together and blending all those delicious flavors.
Finally, turn off the heat and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley or dill.
🍽️ Serving & Preserving
Serve while still warm with your preferred bread. Sometimes we like to top it with a dollop of sour cream for even more deliciousness.
Keep it in the fridge up to 4 days covered with a lid. When reheating add a little water.
